Four things about me

I am a third culture kid - born in China to Chinese academics and moved to England with parents, before I started school. I mostly lived in Cambridge and London during my maturing years and I have just recently moved to the USA. I'm not strictly speaking from any particular country and I try not to pigeonhole myself to any particular culture. This means I am often lost in translation when I talk to people, whereever I am, whoever I'm with, even with close friends and family. It also means I see the world from a slightly different perspective.

Passionate about swimming, science, traveling, cooking and listening to (but not able to play) indie rock music. I'm not accomplished at any of those things yet, but I'll give it my best shot. I feel a tiny bit over-educated and anti-social at times (though some would disagree), which is why I write blogs. At school, I was never passionate about anything but as you grow older, you realize you HAVE to put heart and soul into what you do in order to have a chance of reaping some rewards.

The views expressed in this blog are my thoughts alone. They refer to the politics, culture and media around me and how they shape me as a global citizen. They are also rants about my daily life. I don't like to impose my views on anyone nor do I involve myself in any mass political or religious movements. Individualism is my pillar at the end of the day.

I am a professional dream chaser. 我在追求一生最需要的梦想. Some people like to call me a research scientist and yes, I have a PhD in neurobiology. So what.
